Ensuite 2 is really the only toilet upstairs at the moment and isn't yet an ensuite. It has a weird shower in, nothing like I have ever seen before, and the shower has never worked. The toilet and basin are ok and are used for whoever is in the upstairs bedrooms at the moment. Looking forward to this being updated ASAP, although it is OK. Bits of offcut carpet put down instead of the awful vinyl flooring we ripped up and supplemented with a bright red bathmat to cheer it up.
As we were using with the old Velux window
Now with a new Velux window
Have you ever seen a shower like this before???? I hadn't and it hasn't worked since we moved in so looking forward to that going soon
The door to the loo is on the left, at the top of the spiral staircase , Oxfam curtains to retain heat downstairs
New doorway from Bed 2 into Ensuite 2 has been constructed
Bed 2 is plastered and now being painted but the ensuite is on hold
Ensuite 2 and ensuite 3 are back to back behind this curved wall
The left hand wall was the darkroom wall and the right hand wall was where the door was into the shower room
Week beginning 25 Nov 2024: Sandy in a bit of a dilemma, he doesn't think he can now get the kitchen to a watertight stage before Christmas so thinks he will have a go at the bathrooms. We spent a weekend urgently making final decisions for what fixtures and fittings we wanted. Had a discussion at the beginning of the week and plans had to be changed because where a shower was going to be fitted we now have a hot water tank. Back to Plan B where we didn't take a cupboard out and kept the shower where it was. Sandy wondering whether to also do Ensuite 1 but then thought that the best plan would be to get outside and get the new Utility Room created from the Hose Room, the room between the garage and the house. He reckons he can take down the old structure and get the new structure up before Christmas so that's where he has gone to work now. Ensuite 1 and Ensuite 2 are currently on hold.
May 2025: Sandy starts ensuite 2 as he moves back upstairs to finish off there. It was decided to keep the linen cupboard, which was at the back of the old shower and accessed from the anteroom into Bedroom 1.
The woodchip walls waiting to be stripped of plasterboard. The radiator and mirror to be removed and the shower unit gone!
Shower space waiting for fixtures and fittings
The door to the ensuite is open, to the left of the drawer units
The new shower and other fittings are in place. The back of the spiral staircase (curved wall) can be seen and the basin is where the door used to be and vice versa. Still waiting to be painted.
